PremieresThe season begins with the UK Premiere of twenty-two year old director Chris Birkmeier's In Bloom, a stunning first-feature boasting superb performances from a talented young cast. The film tells the story of two young and devoted partners whose relationship is threatened by the disruptive impact of an alluring newcomer. There are two further Premieres: Firstly, the dark and potent German thriller Lose Your Head, about a young Spanish tourist who flirts with danger on Berlin's infamous gay club scene and later in the programme U.S filmmaker Mike Skiff joins us for an on-stage Q&A following the World Premiere of Folsom Forever, his enlightening documentary about the wild history of San Francisco's annual leather and fetish street party. |

Other highlights include a preview screening of Nanouk Leopold's captivating rural drama It's All So Quiet, in which a farmer's isolated existence and repressed sexuality are shaken by the arrival of a young farmhand. There's also a
special preview of UK director Simon Savory's stunning American road movie Bruno and Earlene Go to Vegas followed by a Q&A with the filmmaker himself.
Director Travis Mathew's will discuss via Skype his and James Franco's explicit co-production Interior. Leather Bar following the screening of this film which takes inspiration from the infamous 1980 classic Cruising, re-imagining the lost forty minutes of footage from that production while exploring sexual and creative freedom.
Following a screening of the drama-documentary Codebreaker, director Clare Beavan will be on hand to answer questions about her fascinating film. Via a combination of interviews and reconstructions, 'Codebreaker' examines the pressures - including homophobic persecution by the U.K government - which contributed to wartime codebreaker Alan Turing's tragic suicide. New ReleasesA number of outstanding new releases also feature in this year's line-up, acknowledging the quality and breadth of recent gay-themed films: Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto give Golden Globe-winning performances in Dallas Buyers Club, the true story of the staggering efforts of a homophobic party boy diagnosed with HIV to get access to the drugs he so desperately needs.Modern gay cinema's wunderkind Xavier Dolan returns with Tom at the Farm a gripping thriller in which a grieving young man becomes embroiled in a dangerous game of deception with his dead lover's family, while Stranger by the Lake, Floating Skyscrapers and Free Fall are three riveting examples of European gay cinema at its very best. With comedy represented by the delightfully playful Tell No One (Not a Word), while I Do highlights the hot topics of gay marriage and immigration equality and high school first love delicately handled in Monster Pies, Deep Desires & Broken Dreams promises to feature something for everyone.
