After ten years Angela Mason
OBE, will be leaving Stonewall in the New Year to become
Director of the Women and Equality Unit at the DTI.
Angela was awarded her OBE in 1999, for services to
homosexual rights.

Stonewall. I would like to thank all those people, the
Board, the staff and all our friends and supporters
who given me personally, and Stonewall ,such wonderful
support. As I always say, 'things don't change, people
change things'. Thank you all very much."
Under Angela's leadership Stonewall is now established
as a leading human rights organisation recognised in
Parliament, the corporate and public sectors as an
authoritative voice on lesbian and gay equality issues.
Angela was awarded her OBE in 1999, for services to
homosexual rights.
Gill Butler, Stonewall's Chair, says "Angela has made a unique contribution to the cause of
lesbian and gay equality - she will be greatly missed
and we wish her every success in her new appointment.
Although major equality reforms have been achieved,
Stonewall's agenda for the coming years is substantial.
There is still much to do in order to achieve full
legal equality and social justice. Stonewall is in a
position of strength with an exceptional senior
management team. We look forward to continuing to meet these
challenges."
